About us!

The Denver Rugby Movement (DRM) is an inclusive community that offers athletes participating in the Special Olympics and other Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled (I/DD) communities the opportunity to participate in the sport of Rugby.

DRM plans to build momentum as a touch/flag Rugby training program and expand into a national team that represents the country at International Tournaments. We have our sights set on the Special Olympic Games in 2027, which is currently working to make sure the structures are in place to host a non-contact Rugby event.

Another international tournament making way for those in the I/DD community is the International Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament. This tournament presents the opportunity for participants of various abilities to participate in Rugby following the traditional 15s Rugby Union laws.

We look forward to Denver Rugby Movement being the start of a widespread action of inclusion for people with varying abilities and sports! There is no better time to initiate this movement as the United States was recently named the host nation for the 2031 Men’s and 2033 Women’s Rugby World Cups — the next few years will be crucial in garnering support for the game of Rugby to make sure anybody who wants to play has the opportunity!

If you agree, join the Denver Rugby Movement!
